Michael is licensed to practice law in all Texas state courts. As a registered patent attorney, he is also licensed to practice before the United States Patent & Trademark Office. He was credentialed as a mediator by the Office of Dispute Resolution for Lubbock County and is qualified to serve as a mediator and arbitrator throughout the state.

PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND
Michael’s diverse training in engineering, business, and law has provided him with a unique set of tools to better understand and serve the needs of his clients. While in law school, he externed for United States District Judge Ron Clark of the Eastern District of Texas. There, he was exposed to high-stakes patent litigation. He also spent one year at Real World Forensic Engineering, where he assisted a mechanical engineering expert witness with his work in products liability, personal injury, and intellectual property cases. Michael had an opportunity to represent both plaintiffs and defendants as a law clerk at Bowles & Crow, a civil litigation boutique in New Mexico. He also worked in the Office of Technology Commercialization at Texas Tech. While there, he helped university inventors to patent and commercialize their inventions.
Before he went to law school, Michael worked as a technical writer at CMH Manufacturing. He also worked on a production project at Millwork by O’Hair, the world’s second largest producer of wooden window shutter panels. Along with three other O’Hair team members, Michael helped design conceptual automated systems and equipment, rendered CAD models, designed and implemented a new manufacturing process, and boosted production in the assembly department by over 19%.
PERSONAL BACKGROUND AND INTERESTS
Michael was born in Andrews, Texas, and is a proud Texan. He grew up in an active duty Army family. He has lived in several Texas towns, including Tyler, Beaumont, Lubbock, and San Antonio. Michael has also lived in Panama, New York, New Mexico, Illinois, Hawaii, and Pennsylvania. He is an avid college football fan and voracious reader.
