Question:
If someone is hurt in an accident, should I try to help?
Answer:
Yes. If the person is seriously injured, do not attempt to move them unless it is absolutely necessary to protect them from further injury. Get someone to call the police or 911 if an ambulance is needed. Do what you can to make the injured person comfortable until paramedics or the police arrive. With few exceptions, a bystander who in good faith administers emergency care at the scene of an emergency in Texas, is not liable for damages for an act performed during the emergency unless the act is willfully or wantonly negligent.
