Chelsea Underwood is an attorney licensed to practice law in all Texas courts, as well as the United States District Courts for the Southern and Western Districts. Chelsea is also a multi-line insurance adjuster licensed in Texas and a certified mediator.
Before attending law school, Chelsea pursued a career in education. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Brigham Young University–Idaho, where she was the youngest graduate in university history at age nineteen. Chelsea also earned a Montessori AMS Credential in Education. To be of greater service to the children and families she worked with as a teacher, Chelsea attended law school at Brigham Young University’s J. Reuben Clark Law School, where she earned her Juris Doctorate.
Chelsea began her career by defending Walmart in personal injury litigation. As part of Walmart’s Tort Litigation Group in Bentonville, Arkansas, she worked on cases in Texas, New Mexico,
Oklahoma, and Puerto Rico. She drafted and implemented Walmart’s case management policies and procedures for Puerto Rico claims and lawsuits. Following her work with Walmart, Chelsea
decided to use her experience to represent injured plaintiffs at personal injury firms in El Paso and Houston. She has successfully litigated and negotiated hundreds of personal injury cases across Texas, including cases for serious injuries that occurred in El Paso, Houston, San Antonio, Austin, and Dallas.
Personal Background and Interests
Chelsea was born and raised in Inglewood, California (Los Angeles County). Eager to learn, she took courses at both Santa Monica College and West Los Angeles College during high school. Early in her career, Chelsea taught elementary school in California, Arizona, and Utah before attending law school. She enjoys bowling, running, baking, and throwing pottery on the wheel during her free time.
