Certifications and Licenses
Don is licensed to practice in all Texas state courts and before the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Northern Districts of Texas. Don is also a member of the American Association of Justice, the East Texas Trial Lawyers Association, the Gregg County Bar Association, and the Texas Trial Lawyers Association.
Don completed his undergraduate studies at Baylor University and received a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance in 1989. He then attended the University of Arkansas School of Law in Fayetteville where he obtained his Doctor of Jurisprudence in May 1992.
Don has devoted his entire legal career to representing injured victims. Upon graduating from law school, Don went to work as an associate attorney at the Nix Law Firm in Daingerfield, Texas from 1993 to 1996. From 1996 to 1997, Don worked as a solo practitioner in the Athens/Gun Barrel City area before relocating to Longview, where he continued his work as a solo practitioner until 1999. For the next 19 years, Don worked as an attorney at the Bennett Law Office in Longview before joining Roberts & Roberts in June 2018.
Personal Background and Interests
Don was born on October 1, 1966, in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, and is a long-time resident of Longview, Texas. He is the proud father of a daughter in high school and is an active member at Winterfield United Methodist Church in Longview, where he serves on the Staff-Parish Relations Committee. Don serves as President of the Longview Lobo Football Booster Club and was a member of a Leadership Longview class in the late 1990s. Except for the time in which he attended law school, Don has been a Texas resident since 1970 and is a graduate of Plano Senior High School. Don is an avid sports fan and enjoys attending baseball, basketball, and football games, as well as his daughter’s volleyball games.
