Description: Ford issued two recalls this week. The first recall involves over 400,000 sedans and crossovers with faulty power steering. Ford says that there could potentially be some type of electrical error or glitch causing the power steering to go out in these vehicles. The recall includes certain 2011 to 2013 Ford Taurus sedans and Flex crossovers as well as the Lincoln MKS and MKT. Also included in this recall are certain 2011 and 2012 Ford Fusion, Lincoln MKZ, and some 2011 Mercury Milans.
The second recall involves the 2015 Ford Mustangs. Almost 20,000 of these vehicles have been recalled because of the need for a new heat shield around the gas tank in vehicles equipped with the 2.3-liter engine.
Hazard: If power steering goes out, your vehicle will be much more difficult to turn and steer properly. The issue with the gas tank shield is that it can overheat if the proper shield is not used.
Remedy: Ford owners should be receiving notice of these recalls via mail and should immediately contact Ford about getting their vehicles repaired.
