Ian R. Simrod

Professional Background

Ian began his legal career representing insurance companies in first-party property disputes in Florida and Texas. In early 2021, he joined Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP, where he gained experience across a diverse range of transactional matters, including mergers & acquisitions, fund formation, and capital markets.

At Roberts & Roberts, Ian focuses on representing injured clients in a variety of personal injury matters, including motor vehicle accidents and premises liability cases. He draws on his background in insurance defense and transactional law to develop strategic and creative approaches to resolving claims for injured Texans.

Professional Education

Ian earned his Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in International Studies, with a focus on World Economy and Business, from The Ohio State University in 2011. He later graduated magna cum laude with his Juris Doctor (J.D.) from the Paul M. Hebert Law Center at Louisiana State University (“LSU Law”) in 2017. While at LSU Law, he served as an Associate for the Louisiana Law Review and was inducted into the Order of the Coif.

During law school, Ian was awarded the Chancellor’s Scholarship and earned a Graduate Certificate in Energy Law & Policy. He also served as an LSU Law Ambassador for two years.

Personal Background And Interests

Ian was born in Las Vegas, Nevada. He moved to Marietta, Georgia as a child and graduated from Joseph Wheeler High School in 2007. Ian enjoys playing hockey, traveling, snowboarding, spending time outdoors, and Ohio State Buckeye Football.
