The East Texas personal injury law firm of Roberts & Roberts originally consisted of two brothers, Randell (Randy) C. Roberts and Bruce L. Roberts, who were raised in Tyler, Texas. They both began their professional careers elsewhere, but eventually returned to Tyler to practice law and to raise their families. In its early years, the firm was known as Loftis & Roberts. Smith County’s former County Judge and District Attorney, Harry Loftis, was also a partner in the firm at that time. In 1987, the law firm renovated and moved into the old Simons home across from Bergfeld Park in Tyler’s historic Azalea District. In 1990, the law firm became known as Roberts & Roberts, with a focus on personal injury law, including auto accidents, truck accidents, defective products, workplace accidents, oilfield accidents and more.
Shortly after the law firm was established, it received local recognition for obtaining the county’s largest wrongful death settlement at that time. The law firm subsequently received national recognition for its work in uncovering the Firestone documents that helped lead to the recall of the Firestone ATX and Wilderness lines of tires. Randell (Randy) C. Roberts has since been voted the “Top Personal Injury Attorney” in a poll of East Texans conducted by BSCENE Magazine, and Roberts & Roberts has been voted “Best Attorneys” in readership polls conducted by the Tyler Courier-Times Telegraph as well as BSCENE Magazine.
The firm continues to draw national media attention because of its role in important product liability cases. Roberts & Roberts holds the highest rating (“AV”) from the Martindale-Hubbell Attorney Rating Service and is included in its Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers. The East Texas personal injury attorneys at Roberts & Roberts have a history of helping people injured by unsafe practices and products as well as by unfair insurance practices. Most of the personal injury lawyers at Roberts & Roberts are board certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in personal injury law or civil trial law.
