Heath W. Dickey
Professional Background
Heath focuses his practice on helping injured East Texans in personal injury matters. Before joining Roberts & Roberts, Heath developed an in-depth familiarity with Texas’ legal system as a policymaking professional at the Texas Legislature.
Recently, Heath served as the Chief of Staff for State Senator Brian Birdwell—a prominent state senator and the Chairman of the Texas Senate Committee on Natural Resources & Economic Development. Over Heath’s tenure with the Texas Legislature, Heath gained extensive experience by serving in the offices of three Texas state senators over four different legislative sessions (starting with the 84th Legislative Session and ending with the 87th Legislative Session). In these capacities, Heath advised lawmakers on a wide number of statutory changes and matters of constitutional jurisprudence. Heath credits his time in the Texas Legislature for instilling in him a passion for serving others and a dedication to improving his community.
Professional Education
Heath completed his undergraduate studies at Georgetown University where he was admitted into the Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service and received a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in two fields: Government and Theology. He went on to receive his Doctor of Jurisprudence (J.D.) from Texas A&M University School of Law. It was during his time at law school that Heath first gained experience in personal injury litigation while working for a personal injury trial attorney in Fort Worth, Texas.

Heath has called Smith County home for most of his life. He was born in Tyler, raised in Arp, and went to high school at The Brook Hill School in Bullard. He and his wife, Mary, are the parents of two young children—a daughter and a son—and are parishioners at the Chapel of Saints Peter & Paul in Tyler.
